"DAS APART RAUCH" FORMER ALPENHÄUSL IN OBERGURGL (BOOKABLE FROM MAY 2020)

"The Apart Rauch" is located in the beautiful and snow-sure town of Obergurgl.

The small and cozy town also called the "Diamond of the Alps" has less than 400 inhabitants and is located at the very end of the Tyrolean Ötztal.
The fact that the place is already at an altitude of 1930 m above sea level is one of the factors why Obergurgl is one of the most snow-reliable places and ski resorts in Europe.

What distinguishes this winter sports resort is that there are no waiting times at the ski lifts.
This is possible because Obergurgl has hardly any day tourists and the lifts with a transport capacity of 33,000 people per hour transport the maximum of 6,000 skiers per day without delay to the over 120 km of groomed slopes.

Since the place is quite clear and there are both lift and bus connections to the sister location "Hochgurgl", you can confidently leave your car at the beginning and end of the holiday and let it snow on.

Some parts of Obergurgl may only be driven by car on arrival and departure.
The low-traffic and idyllic place is extremely family and child-friendly.

Gurgl is one of the few winter sports resorts where children up to 8 years are free, i.e. get a ski pass for free and young people up to the age of 16 receive a "child discount".

In Obergurgl you will not only find a ski children's club and 5 ski schools, there are mainly easy and intermediate slopes in the Gurgl ski area.

But Gurgl also has a lot to offer for professional athletes !! You should then drive up the "Wurmkogel" (3082 meters in altitude) or on the "Hohe Mut". How the name of the second summit came about is easy to guess. The place also invites to various ski hiking tours e.g. into the Königstal.

If your condition allows, you can ski down from the "Wurmkogel" to Gurgl and overcome over 1,300 meters in altitude in one piece on the 6 km long descent.

The Gurgler ski area has a total of 120 kilometers of ski slopes, 95 kilometers of which are equipped with snow-making systems. The snow-making systems ensure that you always have enough snow under your skis even in busy areas and that the season is guaranteed from mid-November to early May.

Since 2019 there is the "Ötztal Superskipass *", which gives winter sports enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the concentrated power of the Ötztal in one ski pass. 361 kilometers of slopes, 90 lifts and 6 ski areas - with the Ötztal Superskipass you have free travel on all slopes in the valley. The well-known ski destinations Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl as well as the family-friendly regions in Hochoetz-Kühtai, Niederthai, Gries and Vent are included.

There are three fun parks in the Gurgl ski area, where snowboarders and jumping enthusiasts will also get their money's worth.
For those who do not keep it in the groomed terrain, there are various ski tours (also guided) that can be undertaken. However, since this requires very good alpine knowledge, you should not tackle this without a local ski and mountain guide.

In summer, Obergurgl is an insider tip for culturally interested hikers, mountaineers, two-wheel enthusiasts (whether motorbikes, mountain bikes or racing bikes) and those looking for relaxation. In the midst of glaciated mountain ridges and umpteen three-thousand-meter peaks, you can enjoy the pleasant fresh air, as well as the peace and pure nature. Experience an unforgettable summer vacation with the Ötztal Premium Card.

This is your key to all the highlights in the valley, which you will receive directly from us on the second day of your holiday (excluding arrival). These include free admission to all summer mountain railways, free use of Ötztal local transport, free admission to almost all museums, as well as many discounts in the hotspots of the Ötztal (e.g. Aqua Dom, Area 47, James Bond Museum, etc). Furthermore, Tyrol also has some culinary delights to offer that you should try on your vacation.

We look forward to you!
